April has already been full of showers, as the old adage goes, but it also holds plenty of great lawn and garden events for National Lawn and Garden Month too! Establishing and Growing Perennials

This class will help you get started, as well as offer information to help your perennials prosper, including: understanding your site conditions; soil preparation; planting and dividing; mulching, watering, fertilizing and weed control; pinching and deadheading; selecting perennials and choosing easily grown varieties. Class is run by UGA Fulton Co. Earth Day Celebration at the ATLANTA BOTANICAL GARDEN

Date: Wednesday, April 22   Time: 10 AM – 1 PM   Cost: Free with Garden Admission

Celebrate nature! From creating crafts to learning about conservation, there’s fun for everyone. Enjoy Storybook Time and ladybug releases.

The Flint River Iris Society is presenting its 15th Annual Iris Show at the Spalding County Extension Office. This is an AIS sanctioned event and is free and open to the public for viewing. There will be Artistic Designs, Horticulture Division, Youth and Adults may enter. Also this year we will have a Kids Coloring Contest.

 

Plant Sale and Garden Fair

Garden Faire

The North Fulton Master Gardeners present Garden Faire. Everyone is welcome! We have a pass-along plant sale. These are plants that we have propagated from our own gardens – everything you can imagine – tried-and-trued, heirloom, and some unusual plants. On the great lawn, we have vendors offering specialty plants, tools, garden stuff, art, food, and life-enhancing products. Speakers share inspiring gardening information. Food trucks, bake sale, and fleatique round out the festive day.
