Backyard Fourth of July Fun

Jun 29, 2015 | General

We at All Turf Lawn Care want to help you prepare for the Fourth of July by offering some tips to help plan a backyard holiday party!

Fireworks, family, barbecue, sun, pool parties, and best of all the sweet smell of freedom. These are just a few of the atmospheres you might experience this coming weekend as it is our nation’s birthday! With this holiday quickly approaching it is important to know how to prepare your backyard for the perfect Independence Day get together.

4th of July Fun Tips

First, it is important to understand who will be joining your festivities. Will children be there? If so, it is important to be mindful of creating a safe party. What does that mean? It means you should be sure that children will not be able to hurt themselves when there isn’t parental supervision 100% of the time; a few examples of this would be: no jagged edges or rocks, no holes through the yard. If there are no children, it is still important to have a moderately safe backyard (injury-proof).

You should also have your entertainment planned out, whether it be watching a few parades on TV, a baseball game, or just having an appropriate playlist for your gathering. As a successful host, it is imperative that you maintain your guests entertained through the day (whether personally or not). This means that along with the music, parades, etc… You should also have certain items to help guests keep themselves entertained, a few examples are: corn hole, shuffleboard, a football, a guitar, card games, or even video games depending on the age group.

Food is another must for hosting a 4th of July party. More specifically, very traditional American cuisine. This means burgers, steaks, hot dogs, chicken (fried to be specific), along with coleslaw, potatoes, and salads. Not to mention it is summer, and due to the heat popsicles, and other cool refreshments will come in handy.

On the other hand, if you plan on joining someone’s festivities this weekend, be sure to bring a little something to the party. Whether you bring drinks, some hors d’oeuvres, charcoal, or even some type of entertainment.

Regardless of whether you’re hosting, attending, or a mixture of both this coming holiday, we hope you have a fantastic time partaking of our nation’s birthday celebration! Your friends at All Turf Lawn Care wish you a wonderful and safe holiday weekend!
